Problem

I cannot see "dot files" on my CD-ROM (.acs directory)

Solution

I have a CD-ROM that contains "dot files". I can see them on Windows but I cannot see them on Linux.

A typical case is an ACS Installation CD, that contains the INSTALL/.acs directory.

Answer:

Depending on the software you use to burn the CD, "dot files" can be marked as "hidden" and cannot be seen on Linux unless the filesystem is mounted with the "unhide" option.

The cdrom entry in you /etc/fstab should look like this:

/dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom iso9660 noauto,owner,kudzu,ro,unhide 0 0
