How do I install a VM-Ware ACS image?

Solution

The VmWare ACS image is distributed as a set of zip files.


  • Create a directory for the distribution
  • Unzip all files in that directory.

This should be in most cases sufficient to run the Virtual Machine by double-clicking on the file:


  • Linux.vmx

The file README.txt contains details about:


  • Virtual machine configuration (virtual hardware and software)
  • Accounts and passwords
  • How to properly configure NAT networking
