Considering the large number of participants and the virtual format of this workshop, we require a way of communicating without saturating or interfering with the rest of the activities that will be taking place. The Slack chat allows to prepare separate channels for different purposes and have the people speaking isolated with the instructors. All people joining into the slack space will automatically join to #acs-workshop channel.

Instructors

Instructors have been added to internal coordination channel to discuss anything that may be needed. Additionally, it is expected that they join all the acswsNN #acswsNN channels to be aware of the different questions from the basic track and #acsws-advanced channel for the advanced track.

Basic Track Participants

Basic track participants are expected to join the acswsNN #acswsNN channel were they were assigned, according to ACS Workshop #12 - Groups confluence page. Here you can:

The advanced track participants are expected expected to join the #acsws-advanced channel to ask questions and coordinate with the instructors for different purposes.

Spectators Audience

Spectators audience is not required to use Slack, but if they want to ask questions it is a good thing for them to also join. After presentations there will be some time to ask questions and make comments, but it's not the time will be limited. All people joining the ACS Community space will automatically join into #acs-workshop channel.
